Playing catch up here!
This past Thanksgiving was very low key. Ben and I had fun experimenting with a "Texas Smokehouse" themed menu. Ben smoked the turkey this year and I came up with some fun sides that were a twist on the traditional. We grilled the potatoes before mashing them, and used a bbq sauce as base for a gravy. Let me tell you, the turkey was by far the greatest thing anyone in the family had ever tasted! It was the most amazing turkey we ever had! We still bring it up from time to time! It was that good!
While the cooking was happening in the morning the parade was on which is always fun. Ben's Grandma came later in the afternoon and we had deserts. We all went to see Frozen which was an instant fav with the family! The girls were just in awe over the whole movie and were both laughing and crying. Too sweet!
That night we looked at the ads for black friday. My Mom and I went out around midnight to a couple stores. This year we didn't really get lucky with any deals, and there wasn't really too much we were even looking for, so it wasn't a major loss. We still had fun going out!
That was our Thanksgiving!
