A Mother's Reflection
This baby lived; he lived in me for many months. I felt him move, we watched him do summersaults on the ultrasound. I can tell you he had a sweet tooth. His kicks were firm yet calm; he was usually in a very cuddly position. He loved the sound of his sister's voices; their joy caused him to be awake and active eager to join them.He had the longest legs, arms feet and fingers. He had the darkest hair that covered his head. He could fit in one hand at 2lbs 7oz .He
looked just like his Dad and his sister Michelle. When you see our grief it is one of disappointment that we will need to prolong our time before he can be with us. Our tears flow for the sudden change in plans, plans we spoke of on a daily basis, years of ideas and time we looked forward to sharing. But we all carry an understanding – that we are Logan’s family; we always will be. A purpose we know he was meant to serve was to be an example of our plan here on earth. By coming to us on Easter we were reminded of how flawless Heavenly Father’s plan for resurrection and the chance to be together for eternity truly is. We will have a chance to be his parents but for the time being we will just have to wait. His purpose was served here on earth and we will come to a time where we will hold him and speak with him again. We love you our son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend for all eternity. Our Logan.
Tiny Hands by Kenneth Cope sung by Heather Smith
another pair of tiny hands
to lay beneath the clay
slumbering little baby eyes
to wake another day
oh god of heav'n, come guard this bed
and let this angel sleep
'til earth is pure for tiny hands
and safe for tiny feet
a wondrous little baby smile
the hope of things to be
born to face the troubled world
for a moment and then set free
oh god of heav'n, take hate from man
'til lambs and lions feed
and make earth pure for tiny hands
and safe for tiny feet
tiny hands
angel hands
perfect hands
blamless hands
lifeless hands
resting in the night
waiting for the light
when life will follow
oh god of heav'n, send christ again
bringing his reign of peace
let earth turn pure for tiny hands
and safe for tiny feet
then give back my child to me
