Ben and I have been pretty good at saying a family prayer every night with Michelle before bed. As a baby we just said it over her crib even though she was usually out already. Older now we've taught her to fold her arms and bow her head, and usually I say a very simple prayer that thanks Heavenly Father for our blessings and then say a list of our family and friends (and pets) asking for them to be blessed. We end with asking to be safe and sleep tight.
Well two nights ago, I wasn't feeling good and Ben was super tired so we put Michelle down forgetting about prayer. We were about to turn off the light when I heard Shelly in her crib praying! She said it just like how I do every night! I had my camera on hand so I snapped a few photos (will download later) of her! When she was done we offered to do it again as a family, (she usually asks us to say it twice sometimes three times).
So anyway it was super cute, and it made me realize how much she watches what we do. If we stay good examples through and through she'll pick up on that. It calms her and I think it makes her feel safe at night.
"I see my mother kneeling with our family each day. I hear the words she whispers as she bows her head to pray. Her plea to the Father quiets all my fears. And I am thankful, love is spoken here." - Love is Spoken Here by Janice Kapp Perry. An LDS Hymn.

We do the same thing with Scott. He's gotten to the point where he prays over everything, food, his cars, when we go for a walk, or a drive in the car. He bows his head and folds his arms, says a babytalk prayer and then a hearty 'amen'. I love his little prayers. Isn't it great when they pick up on the good stuff? :)
