Michelle turned 7 this past September. She has been soaring through 1st grade! I'm adjusting to living with such a smartie! Last year she would be silly most of the time and would talk baby talk when she was shy or wanted to show off, and I was getting worried it wasn't going to be a phase. It was totally a phase. She is still full of humor, but its actually good humor now! Haha!
Things about Shelly...She has an amazing voice! We love hearing her sing all day. This girl loves to learn! She is full of deep questions and wants to have lots of experiences. She is an amazing reader and is currently at the same level of a kid in 3rd grade almost 4th! (Reading chapter books out load to your tiny ones pays off!) She hardly sounds out words and I hear her saying a new hard word with ease that I know I would've had a really hard time with at that age!
She is still very interested in pregnancies and child birth. She herself is terrified at the idea of going through it as an adult. But she loves learning about a baby growing in the womb and labor! I've been trying to find any kind of book or video on the subject for kids. Alas there are zilch! This has me thinking this girl may be a Dr one day! Hmmm!
We are blessed to have such a compassionate girl. She is a good friend to all and is constantly seeing things beyond what they appear.

For her birthday we celebrated with a few of her friends at our home and had a Pumpkin Patch themed party!
We had a table full of fall and pumpkin themed/flavored treats. The girls each got a pie pumpkin to paint. Then they enjoyed a desert picnic! After we had cake and opened presents! They watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown while waiting for parents. It was a lot of fun!
