Scarlett Grace at 3!

Scarlett turned 3 on December 4th! She is the baby that is full of spunk and sass!

To start, we had a rough spat of confusion surrounding her bday. Her Dr diagnosed her with Autism. This is very broad and requires more testing before we actually treat it etc. Basically some of her behaviors combined put her in this bubble. She is still very young, so at this point she'll be seen more by a specialist. There are a couple other possibilities, she may have slight hearing loss, or her being a preemie baby may be something to do with it. The "it" I'm speaking of is her lack of really contecting with things someone says to her. There are times I explain something is dangerous, for example, and the look on her face shows she's not registering. She will throw tantrums if her routine is messed with, or sometimes for no reason at all. I've had some hope the past month, she started talking a lot more. I read about different approaches parents can give, and its really worked. The number one thing I've focused on is my love for her hasn't changed. It's Scarlett! I'm not one to let these things shake me. I excepted this responsibility in my life, I was given these beautiful children with the expectation to teach them, help them and love them. So however they come, I know they are meant for me. So I can take it!

Animal - Hippo, it's so random, but she became obsessed! She LOVES hippos!
Color - Purple! My fab is pink, Michelle's fav is pink, so I was worried Scarlett would get brainwashed with it, lol but this past month if it comes in purple Scarlett wants it! She'll even tell you that's what her favorite color! It's fun seeing her gain her own tastes, and opinions!
Place - Epcot. She's asks to go back daily. Lol

Personality - Scarlett is very girly! She loves make up, make sure yours is always out of reach or she'll find it! When it's very very quiet, chances are Scarlett has gotten into some makeup, the scary thing is, she applies it very well. She has a bunch of small purses, changes them out daily, and then takes one with her if we run errands. At the same time she is tough, and isn't afraid to stand up for herself...OR her big sis! Lol

Church - Scarlett spent the first month as three at her last month of nursery! Our ward has been blessed with the greatest leaders there! She loved nursery and never complained about being there! Once January hit, she became a Sunbeam! I'm freaking out with how much time has flown! She was a newborn when we first moved in, now a sunbeam? She had a hard time at first. But Michelle is in there, and her teachers are amazing so she'll be fine!

Activities - Scarlett also started dance in December! I noticed she was constantly trying on Michelle's old dance clothes and shoes and dancing whenever she could! Then she started asking for Dance class. So we gave it a shot! She loves it so much! I was surprised to see how she ran in the first day and forgot all about me! Lol. She follows the teacher without a problem and is a great listener. She is so different in class! I'm hopeful that by her having her own special thing, she'll gain confidence! So far, very good!

I'm so excited to watch her learn and grow this year! I love my Scarlett!
