Independence Day 2012!

We had a busy holiday this year! Started off with the Frontier Days parade on Main Street Round Rock. We had a great spot in the shade and the girls loved seeing all the cars aka floats drive by with candy! I feel so lucky to live in such a great community, we've got a lot of spirit! After the girls got to splash in the splash pad for a few minutes and cool down which was nice.

Next was the carnival at the park. We walked around for a bit and looked at all the cute booths and games. Then we let the girls pick one ride each for us to go on. Scarlett picked the Strawberry ride and we all loved it! The girls liked to spin and fall side to side! LOL Next Michelle picked a hot air balloon ride that went up and down AND spun around. I thought one of them would get worried, but they were both cheering and clapping and laughing non stop! (Great practice for Disney!)

My parents house was next. It had been a while since we spent the fourth with them, so we got over there and swam for hours and at some burgers and hot dogs! After relaxing we went back to the park to watch fireworks.

I'm glad Ben's grandmother gave us this giant quilt, because it was super nice to lay it out and sit. The girls waved their little flags and looked up at the sky talking. When the fireworks started I had no idea how the girls would react since last year there was a ban on fireworks. But once they started Scarlett started cheering and jumping and yelling out "Again!" after each one! Michelle just calmly watched and looked up with a big smile! When the fireworks ended the park started Captain America on a big screen. We watch a little bit of it then started packing up, thats when my sister noticed a small snake on our quilt. My Dad got rid of it no problem! But it was creepy! LOL Scarlett kept asking "What happened to Nake?" Getting out was a ton of traffic, but luckily the girls crashed immediately, and Ben and I just hung out and chatted so I guess there are worse things!

All in all it was a great Fourth of July!
