Chuy's Christmas Parade

.

This year my family attended the Chuy's Children giving to Children Christmas parade. The girls were so into the one on Thanksgiving I wanted to give them a taste of what it would be like. The 2nd we arrive a woman started asking if we brought a toy, if we were from Austin, and commented on how cute the girls were. I was a little confused and figured she just moved here or something. But then she tells me she's with YNN news team and asked if she could interview our family. I told her it would be great, and she says AND I quote "Cute kids bring in more viewers" Ha! Oh great there goes my bragger Mom meeter! My parents and siblings showed up soon after it started. The twins waved anxiously at any and ALL the cheerleaders! Goodness! LOL Michelle and Scarlett were screaming at all the floats and characters walking by! They loved it. Then it was time for my 15 min of fame. Jess interviewed me with Scarlett who was kinda like "Whatever!" LOL After a few questions they said they would keep the cameras on us the whole time to add other footage of us during the report. I gotta tell you having a taste of what a reality show would be like was extreme! Michelle had a heavy mic hooked up to her that sometimes distracted her. But when it came time to deliver the doll we brought she was beyond excited! My siblings cheered her on which made her day. The news crew had me ask Michelle some questions so she would be her natural self. Luckily I had a long talk with her that morning and in lessons in her preschool group about giving back to kids in need. So they had a real opinion from such a young kid. The parade was about an hour long, and by the end Scarlett was out like a light. She even slept through the loud bands and hollering crowds. Awesome! Two reports aired of both my interview and a longer segment including Michelle and Scarlett. It was such a cool experience. And yes, we'll be burning the reports on DVD to keep in our home movie stash! Watch the interview HERE!
