A nice shopping mall we have here called The Domain hosts a holiday event usually the week before Thanksgiving where they have live music, food trucks, and all sorts of fun things for families. They end the evening by a "big" number (usually someone who was voted off American Idol, or similar) preform. Then Santa and a kid light the big tree in front of Macy's. After there are usually fireworks.
This year Nikita from The Voice preformed, and because of the burn ban there no fireworks, instead tons of snow was blown out into the streets. The girls loved it! And it was actually the first year that there was no need for a stroller (bittersweet) they held hands and danced together and enjoyed the many festive sights. Our little family has gone every year, its become a sweet tradition we always look forward to!
