When I was a kid, Halloween was my favorite holiday! Yes even over Christmas. My mom had this VHS tape full of recorded Halloween specials that she would bring out in October and we loved watching them every year.
So when Ben and I got married I started building on my own stash for our kids. Movies, toys, anything Halloween themed I would grab! Some think its silly and over the top, but luckily I have friends who love it as much as I do and my kids are huge fans!
Michelle desicribes our Halloween decor in the perfect way "Its very very spooky sparkally!" LOL I don't like gore, but I love gaudiy looks. So we have tons of glitter and I have two collections on display. One The Boney Bunch which is in its forth year from Yankee Candle. I've gotten pieces from every year and my entire collection is worth hundreads though I'll never sell! And then I have witches. I'm obessed and even display the very realistic corky dolls everywhere. We also have tons of Nightmare Before Christmas decor, and I have 3 Halloween candles I burn (not all at once). The past couple years we started making the Halloween Build A Bear. Super fun! And I'm making a major Halloween mix cd for the car. We've got the soaps from Bath and Body works, even a car freshener I bust out in some sort of pumpkin scent. What did I tell ya? Obsession!
3rd week of September we actually decorate, and I bring out the boxes of Halloween books, toys, and DVDs! It makes it feel new every time and gives them something to look forward too. Pictured above is a typical night before bed they lay out all the movies and pick one, then they watch and play toys and read, etc. Its so much fun at this age! I can't wait for all the events we'll be hitting up, and all the friends we'll be sharing it with! Stay tuned!
