Scarlett's First Birthday

December 4th marked one year with our Scarlett! That morning it was like she could sense it was going to be a good day!

Since her birthday fell on a Saturday we decided to throw her party on her birthday. Since this pregnancy has whipped me out, I decided to invite only family and a handful of close friends. Michelle's party was packed, and the thought of that while I had no energy stressed me out! LOL

We threw it at my parents house, and the theme was a Pink Poodle in Paris. I found this stuff online and it was beyond cute! Scarlett's dress was super sweet. Pink and gray plaid with a big pink bow. She finally fit into Michelle's old shoes, they are silver and have a quilted look. So they looked great with her dress.

After socializing we jumped right for cake! Now...our Scarlett is a MAJOR foodie! (Foodie = lover of various foods) So I knew that this would be a highlight for her! I made a funfetti cake, and made my own icing, which is why I didn't decorate it too fancy, it would take away from the flava, which was seriously the tastiest cake I've made thanks to the frosting. We all sang and she was in awe of the attention. Then big sister Shelly helped blow out the candle. Scarlett didn't hesitate touching the cake and tasting it. Once she connected with that sweetness there was no stopping her! She kept going and going! Stuffing more and more! LOL Classic Scarlett!

After cleaning her up, we opened gifts. She was beyond excited and all smiles while opening presents. I imagine her thinking, "Wait! These are for ME??? Intended just for me???" Michelle helped with a couple gifts and was right by her sisters side to join in with the excitement. I'm glad she didn't feel jealous and to this day will say things like "Aw! This one is Scarlett's toy from her birthday and we share!" LOL

Ben and I bought her a learning tea set that goes with a collection of learning toys they have at home that Scarlett loves. Every morning the girls play with it and we noticed this is the first toy Scarlett has played "pretend" with. She will pour the tea and pick up the cup and pretend to drink it. Its the cutest thing!!!

Every year to celebrate on a family members actual birthday we go out to eat that night. So we decided on Panera Bread, really since I was craving it. Scarlett had a nice little bowl of Mac and Cheese!

It was a great day. I've said before how she looks up to Michelle so much and loves to just watch her and get excited for her birthday, dance class, etc. So whenever the attention is meant all for her, she feels so in awe! Her smile was beyond huge the whole day, she felt so special! We love her so much! Happy Birthday!!!!
