Remember the ALAMO???

I've been doing a raw home school program with Michelle every morning. Its been about 3 weeks and we've been having so much fun! The whole lesson is 30 minutes, so even working moms can do it! While learning different landmarks, we've made the Alamo stand out since its closest. Last Monday my mom and I took the girls to San Antonio for a "Field Trip!" LOL

When Michelle saw the Alamo I thought she would kinda get board and move on, but she freaked! She was so happy! We took a few pics in front and then went inside. She kept saying "I'm IN the Alamo!! I'm IN THE ALAMO!!" We got a few giggles from other tourists, which made me smile (ugh I know the proud mom smile, like my kid is sooo perfect, we've all been there!) She named most of the flags hanging there, and then we went to a gift shop where she named many Texas animals and of course identified the Texas Longhorn logo, although that not really part of school, she learned all about that from my brother! She picked out an Alamo coloring book and a post card that we placed by her homework on the wall! We were there for a good 30 min at the Alamo which was good for her age, no long tours or anything.

On the way back she saw a carriage and flipped out again! So my mom decided to spend a billion dollars for a ride, but it was worth it! We saw so much of the city, and Shelly kept naming more flags and other things she's learned. Mostly she was concerned about where the castle was and what she was going to wear when we got there, I mean she REALLY freaked out at the thought thinking we were seriously going to a ball! LOL

We ended the day with some great Mexican food! Of course! It was a nice sweet visit! She says she wants to go see the Statue of Liberty next, and the Sydney Opera House! LOL
