Our trip was amazing! We feel very blessed we were able to go.
Upon arrival we rested for a bit, and went out to see all the London sites! Big Ben was incredible to see at night!
The next day we went around some more. We ran into the Harry Potter premiere and saw some of the cast which was awesome! That night we saw Chicago starring Jerry Springer (I know random) but the show was really good!
Wednesday we slept in went to a museum or two, and I saw my fav author Phillipha Gregory, very cool.
Thursday we went to Hampton Court and The Tower of London. I'm a huge Tudor history buff, so seeing these things was a dream come true for me. Ben's gotten pretty into it too since marrying me. We had dinner at Planet Hollywood, Bens never been so it was an experience. While we were there we saw Andy Serkis who play Gollum in Lord of the Rings and 13 going on 30 and a few others, he walked by our table so that was I guess a cool run in. That night we saw Thriller the musical, a hit over there the past 6 mths or so. Since Michael Jackson just died, the audience had a bunch of energy, it was a lot of fun!
Friday and Saturday we finished up with a bunch more sites and museums, and Fri we also caught Les Miserable, which is by far our favorite show to date! It was beyond moving! And we were 2nd row, so it was neat! For dinner we had fish and chips, pretty good.
Sunday morning we did some quick shopping, and spent the next couple days getting home which was the hardest part.
Overall London is a lot like here as far as restaurants, entertainment and stores, but of course there are many things that were definitely different. The double Decker buses, the homes, the crime, etc.
Going on this trip was the longest Ben and I have been alone in a different place together, the longest time out of Austin was in San Antonio for two days. It was our first time out of the country, and Ben's 2nd time on a plane. We didn't fight while we were there, we laughed and laughed. It was fun teasing each other, even some old school flirting! LOL But missing Michelle that much was interesting, I knew I would miss her, but it was very hard at times. We hope to take her on a trip with us next time.
