We hit a major milestone at the end of August! Moving into our first house! After 7 years of apartment living, we were beyond ready! Together, Ben and I spent lots of time researching neighborhoods, schools and communities. What places are safe, which ones are shady. Round Rock really has everything we're looking for. Its a perfect place to raise kids. I love pretty much everything about it. Finding the right home took more time because the price had to be right and we knew what we wanted. That home ended up in Eagle Ridge subdivision. Four bedroom, two and a half baths. It has plenty of entertaining space and room to grow!
We decided not to tell the girls until we were closer to closing. Once we told them it still wasn't real enough. We'd even drive by and Scarlett would calmly say "No that house is locked!" It wasn't until the final walk through that they saw it. They fell crazy in love with the place! The picture I took of them in their room for the first time, melts my heart every time I see it! Michelle's face is full of ease and comfort. Scarletts is full of wonder and hope.
For Scarlett, she didn't grasp that we moved out of our apartment. She wasn't there the final couple days. So the last thing she remembered was a couple things in boxes, but the apartment still pretty intact. After a few days at my parents she started panicking and wouldn't sleep and kept asking to go home. A few weeks later she was sleeping better but still asking to go home. During the summer if we passed our apartments she would cheer and say "Oh thank you Mom we're home!!" Only to find we would stop. So now her things are back, and she gets this is our new home.
Its nice to finally feel settled. We plan on being here for a while! So this is home!
