Another Year Older!

That would be ME! I turned 24 on the 15th! The day started with well...cleaning! Yeah actually I did all the regular housework, then over and beyond scrubbing bathroom floors. I didn't have too, I could have done it the day before, but I put it off, so cleaning it is! Two things came to my mind - 1. I should ask for a mop for my birthday, this is getting crazy...and 2. My teenage version of myself would beat me up in a screaming fit right now! LOL I've arrived at an age where seriously my birthday isn't viewed as the most amazing day on the planet, and you know what? I'm completely ok with that! It has just happened like night and day!

But don't think I didn't celebrate! After cleaning from 6:30-12, I got the girls and me ready and my mom and sisters took me to Papasitos! I'm so lucky! The shrimp enchiladas are my super favorite! After that I went to the mall and we picked up a cookie cake! My fav! I of course let Shelly do her store rounds, another new development, no stores for myself? Wow I'm a mom! LOL

When we got home Ben was there and I opened gifts - all the swag combined included

3 books from my brothers (The Hunger Games, and two historical reference books)
The new Gone with the Wind ornament (I get one every year) From Sarita
A vintage Little Mermaid shirt from Jennifer
Ben bought me Rebel without a Cause, a classic fav James Dean movie!
My mom let me pick out some serious make-up from my favorite brand!
AND a Diane Von Furstenberg dress that is so Jackie O I could melt!

The girls were super cute and spoiled me with love! Michelle sang so loud with the biggest smile on her face while waiting for me to blow out the candles. After doing so, she cheered like the war was over! LOL The cookie was amazing!

After that my sister Sarita baby-sat while Ben, Me, my mom, and Jennifer went to see eclipse! Ok I hated the first two, it has nothing to do with "Oh not like the book!" since I'm completely aware that a book and a movie are two different things. I just didn't like the acting AT ALL! But after hearing this one was SOOO different, I gave it a shot. And the rumors are true, it wasn't bad, I actually enjoyed it for the most part, even though I can't contain my giggles at parts I find totally corny. But it pays off when getting glares from girls who take it so so seriously! LOL

So it was a good day I must say! Thinking about turning 24 I find I'm filled with a sense of maturity I've never had. I'm at a point in my life where I don't feel so far a head everyone else. I feel I'm in a settled place, if that makes sense. I hear some girls say when they thought of being "X" age they would've NEVER seen themselves married, with kids, etc. But for me, I never saw myself anywhere else, that might be sad to some, which I laugh because really this life is good, not easy, but no life is! So I'm glad I'm here! Getting older has never bothered me, and I know I know I'm still in my early 20s, but seriously, thinking of 25, 30, 45, 50 doesn't feel scary or ugly. I have everything I've wished for in previous birthdays. So now I can just sit back and enjoy the ride. And no matter what size or age, I have confidence in myself that is what truly gets attention, so I'll always know how to make it look good!

So Happy Birthday to me! And here's hoping for many many more!
